Yesterday, three Ford Fiestas were won in the GS world (one sedan & two hatchbacks)! I don't recall any other time where at least three shows in the same day that gave away the same kind of car. That's an example that you can't make up most of those surprising occurrences around here from the past five years or so. Here are lots of others:
-Two traditional $1M GS winners on the first week of September '08 ("Deal or No Deal" & "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?")
-For three months in a row in '08, the first day of each month had a historic first (first $200K winner on "The Moment of Truth" to start July, first $25K winner on "Catch 21" in August & the first $1M winner on "DoND").
-The Perfect Showcase Bid on the same day of the finale of "The Biggest Loser: Families"- Dec. 16, 2008
-Both "Temptation" & "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" setting new winnings records on Feb. 15, 2008 on the same day a combined $750K was won on "1 vs. 100" & there were two hilarious missolves on "Wheel of Fortune"
-On both weeks in '08 where the $1M was won in a Showcase Round on "The Price is Right Million Dollar Spectacular" (when it aired on Friday nights), a $1M case was sold on "Deal" on a Monday
-Virginian Kimberle Handy winning Lucky $even for real on "TPiR" after playing it on a DVD game on Jan. 9, 2007
-Jamie Sadler becoming the only U.S. millionaire on "Power of 10" on Aug. 7, 2007, the same night Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron's all-time career HR record
-Christian Saulnier salvaging the week of Apr. 9-15, 2007 by winning the $500K on "Identity" in a Friday thriller
-Gabriel Reilich winning $500K on "Duel" on May 2, 2008 w/ only one chip left
-On the same weeks of the fourth, fifth & sixth season finales of "Project Runway", another GS had a $1M winner ("TPiR", "Wheel" & "Millionaire", in that order)
-In March '10, there were three $100K+ winning totals in a span of four episodes on "Wheel"
-For three months in a row in the Spring of '11, there was one Perfect BR Week per month on "WoF" (the last being to close out the New Orleans road trip)
-Caitlin Burke's one-letter "Wheel" puzzle solve at the end of the same week that started w/ the announcement of Charlie O'Donnell's death
We'll continue our look back as the week goes on.
