BREAKING NEWS: Diller dead at 95

Veteran comedienne Phyllis Diller DIED this morning at 95. 

Born Phyllis Ada Driver, she first did stand-up in '55 & she appeared as a contestant on "You Bet Your Life" in the late '50s. She made her late-night TV debut on "The Jack Paar Show" in '59. She even had her own variety show titled "The Beautiful Phyllis Diller Show" on NBC in '68 & played Dolly Levi in the Broadway production "Hello Dolly!".


Diller was on the original version of "The Match Game" in '64 & appeared on both "What's My Line" ('63 & '64) & "What's This Song?" ('64). She was on "I've Got a Secret" from '64 to '66. Also, she appeared on "P.D.Q." in '67, "Don Adams' Screen Test" in '75, "The Gong Show" in '76 as a judge & the original version of "The Hollywood Squares".


In the '80s, Diller was a guest on "Tattletales" ('82), a "Family Feud Perfect 10's" special ('83), a "Family Feud Funny Men vs. Funny Women" special ('89), "The Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour" ('84), "Body Language" ('84 & '85), "Celebrity Hot Potato" ('84), "The New Hollywood Squares" ('87-'89), "Blackout" ('88) & "Super Password" ('88 & 89).


She again appeared on "Squares" (this time w/ Tom Bergeron) for its last three years on the air ('02-'04) & "Secret" in '06 (the Bil Dwyer version on GSN).


Diller even provided a guest voice on "You Don't Know Jack: Volume 2" in '96, competed on "Street Smarts" in May '03 & appeared on "Last Comic Standing" twice- first as a celebrity talent scout in '03, then as part of a roast challenge in '04.
