Checkpoint #1 ("Mind Field"): Arrange the numbers 1-9 marked on rocks in a grid so that every direction adds up to 15 & it blows up when a red button's pressed; 20 min. are on the clock.
Brooklyn finishes first after being in last place for several moments, followed by San Diego.
C #2 ("Rung Out"): The teams have to toss a ring onto a hook; failure to do so each time forces them to drink a shot of camel milk.
Brooklyn & San Diego trade positions, meaning S.D.'s in first.
C #3 ("Get Tired"): A team of two has to collect four tires, while any team of four must collect twice as many. They must use the nearby tools to pull their tires to the next challenge.
C #4 ("Camel Nap"): They have to sleep in between their squares & hold onto a camel before sleeping; for the rest of the night, they had to keep the camels from leaving the tent. For every consecutive hr. that a teammate spends napping, a one-hr. bonus will be given to that team. Also, the first-place team at the start of Day 2 received a 10-min. bonus; the second-place team got a five-min. credit.
HEAD STARTS:
Brooklyn: 10 min.
S.D.: 11 min. (one bonus min. because Devyn stepped out of their box)
Vegas: 6 min.
C #5 ("Hallucination Station"): Find the following words from a giant board, look at the word directly to the right of each one & using the given answer key, turn the eighth letter of each corresponding word into a digit (A: 1, B: 2, C: 3 & so on) needed to unlock some sieves- MANAGEABLY, AIRLIFTING, PERSEVERES, AIRBRUSHES, MANEUVERER, HOUSEWARES, PRUDENTIAL & UNARGUABLE.
Vegas has now moved into second by the time they reach this checkpoint.
C #6 ("Sand Shift"): Fill up those sieves w/ sand & then fill up a bigger box w/ the sieves' sand to its red line.
To complete the course after that, the big black flag has to be grabbed...
