WE HEARD YOU, Cindy! This is the second Fri. episode in a row we had a maingame winner be the biggest winner of the week regardless of their eventual BR outcome. Last week, we didn't want the 100 big ones to be in the spun envelope, but obviously, we all want to see it right now in the "Klings" of Pat. Is she the second-highest "Wheel" winner of all-time at $147K?...

...SHE SURE IS- LET THE CONFETTI & STREAMERS LOOSE!!!!!!!!

$5K SPIN ID #65: JG0021410

VB: NEW 2ND-HIGHEST "WHEEL" WINNER!

After we tell you that $180K's in the current bank for Rebuilding Together, Pat takes off his jacket just before the closing credits. All told on another memorable "Wheel" week, $377,702 in cash & stuff was awarded, also a new S-H!

(Final notes: I didn't notice the maingame record spoilers from last week, but I did notice the ones for tonight; the same went for the $1M win. Also, Jim has said "Money needs no introduction..." for each of the three $100K wins to date in S30.)

Jeopardy!:
Sandip Amin (originally from Madison, IL)- Finance manager
Paula Menasche (Coral Gables, FL)- HS Social Studies teacher
NEW QUEEN OF THE HILL: Nichole Mancone ($21,100)

Fri.'s Category Feast:
HOLIDAYS & OBSERVANCES
LETTERS, WE GET LETTERS (they don't do the "CBS Mail Bag" on "Late Show with David Letterman" anymore)
SELF-HELP BOOKS
ACTORS & THEIR ROLES (two characters per answer)
TRANS"PO"TATION
U.S. CITIES

Nichole's in LGT herself w/ $5,200, followed by Paula's $1K & Sandip's $400. After responding right on the middle Holidays & Observances clue, Nichole w/ $5,800 snatches the DD from its $800 spot; Sandip's at the $1K level & Paula's slightly dropped to $600. Nichole makes this a $2K clue:

At the beginning of each term, Supreme Court Justices work one week, then get Mon. off for this.

"What is Columbus Day?"...that just boosted her to $7,800! She's still sitting pretty to the tune of $10,800; Paula's a distant second place w/ $1,200 & the third-place advantage belongs to Sandip now w/ eight $100s.

SOLE ATTEMPTED TS: $800 (Self-Help Books)

VAN GOGH
STARRY NIGHT

Once Van Gogh's cleared out, Sandip goes DDH starting on the $800 "L.A." block...& has one of 'em from the $1,600 Italian History square; he's got $3,600 in the till, is $1,200 ahead of Paula for second & is $6K off the lead. He's going for the whole kit & kaboodle on this one:

The Etruscans' territory extended roughly South to this river, where the hero Horatius stopped them at the bridge.

"What is The Rubicon?"...another Jeep trim mentioned in this game (the first one was Overland), but this one's NOT right; it was the Tiber River. W/ approximately one min. to go in this rd. of play...the last one this week is found by Paula midway in Starry Night w/ $7,600; she has an $8K deficit between her & the champ, whereas Sandip's $400 in negative territory. Paula bets a G.

Other than The Sun, the first star surface directly photographed was Betelgeuse, the shoulder of this constellation.

"What is Orion?"...cue its motion picture logo theme- that's right. No more time for the three least valuable answers about Italian History, nor from Sandip in this match- -$400's his final score.

ATTEMPTED LT: $2,800
UNATTEMPTED LT: $9,200

Paula's last Q in the game was "Who was Mark Twain?"...she doubles up...Nichole missed w/ Henry David Thoreau...& BLOWS THE CO-CHAMP BID BY GIVING UP $5K. That sends Nichole home w/ $23,100.

Just before the Christmas Day "Match Game" marathon tomorrow, we unfortunately have to report that Jack Klugman, who lost his voice to throat cancer & had to train himself to speak again, died today at the age of 90.

Various sources contributed to this report.

TPiR: I'm NOT feeling good at all about their Christmas Eve episode, but let's see how it plays out as the FF comes to play- Daniel LeClaire, Viera Shank, Mathias Fue & Ashely Stewart. As you might expect, the final Holiday Gift Idea of the Day (after George introduces Drew as "It's Santa's favorite helper") is a critical one- it's an hp Ultrabook laptop w/ headphones & a printer (Rob in the clam).

Ashely: $801/Mathias: $650/Viera: $750/Daniel: $850

ARP: $1,355

Daniel (a wedding singer from WI) will play 3 Strikes for...instead of a Jaguar, a Lexus IS 250C (Std., Wheels, Headlamps, Seats, Nav., Windscreen, PFA, LuxiCare)(Manuela)(MDS Theme).

NUMBERS IN PLAY: 4, 5, 6, 8 & 9

3. 8: SECOND- NO
4. X- STRIKE TWO

Ashely: $1.5K/Mathias: $1,264/Viera: $1,501/SUSAN: $1,200

ARP: $1,999

Viera plays One Wrong Price for a Panasonic 55" 3-D HDTV marked at $2,099 (Manuela), some Prada sandals & a sequined clutch marked at $874 (Rachel) & a wattbike TRAINER marked at $3,851 (Rob).

OWP PICK: Accessories- LUMP OF COAL (wattbike: $2,995)

A Meredith's definitely coming down sixth, but rather Louise Grim; the train (Manuela) brings out the third one-bid gift, women's snowboarding gear (Amber).

Ashely: BUCK/Mathias: $950/LOUISE: $900/Susan: $1,200

ARP: $650

Ashely from Sacramento (an airport electronics store worker who has two dogs named Ace & Holly according to her black on white T-shirt) in a comfortable position, but now she wants to decide whether she's Coming or Going regarding a five-night trip to the Tivoli Lodge Vail in CO (Rachel).

GUESS: Going ($7,825)- SPRIG OF HOLLY

SCSD #1:
Daniel ($1,355): THREE QUARTERS
Viera ($1,999): 20 + 15 = $.35
Ashely ($8,475): 40 + 65 = OVER BY A NICKEL

The red secondly goes to Talienna Darrow & Manuela's next showing off a Michael C. Fina white gold diamond ring.

TALIENNA: $1,200 (she mistakenly said $12K at first)/Mathias: $1.5K/Louise: $1,680/Susan: BUCK

ARP: $2,350

I've got "Grim" news for Louise from Phoenix- if she wants to win a ride, she has to go all the way on More or Less, where in the offering will be an Ocean Kayak Scrambler 11 package (Amber), a Honda CRF-100 motorcycle (Amber & Rachel), a Golden West Billiard MFG. table (Rachel) & one of the last of the previous generation RAM 1500 ST Regular Cabs (Rob).

HONDA ($3.5K): LESS- $2,880
G. WEST ($4K): LESS- $3,595
RAM ($23,300): LESS- $22,470

WTH?!?! SHE NEEDS TO THANK HER HUSBAND RICHARD FOR PULLING OFF THAT RICHARDS ROBBER (& I overheard her saying that she needed to replace a '99 Ford that had 200K+ miles)!!!!!

Video Bonus: MoL Presents Galore

After we were all as shocked as Mike was over that, coming on down next-to-last is Everett Chambers & next to be on's a couple of RetailMeNot/Canon digital cameras (Rachel & Rob; you can win one on the program's website).

Talienna: $900/Mathias: $551/EVERETT: $545/Susan: $550

ARP: $698

Mathias, the last of the FF, wrongly Switches & loses the $2,698 Electrolux washer/dryer (Amber) & $3,798 gas grill (Manuela). That segment had a -98 theme for some reason.

As the next segment gets started, George lastly calls on a very emotional LaShell Blackwell (we may have an -LL theme going on here now) & the winner of these four watches (ceiling) will play Pl!nko.

Talienna: $751/LASHELL: $400/Everett: $750/Susan: $500

They have to do the OFFICIAL BUSINESS of awarding Paul a fairly loaded $25,305 VW Beetle due to his fairly impressive solve, which means Scrooge definitely won't visit the "Wheel" lot this yr. & he leaves w/ cash & Bug totaling $41,905! All told, that's the 30th aired BR win of the 30th Anniversary season & there's likewise $175K in the Rebuilding Together bank.

$5K SPIN ID #61: KH7418478

(Final notes: After the Rebuilding Together BR reminder, his GT's shown as he just got out of the car he just won, then we see the $5K SPIN ID. Not sure if this is permanent.)

IT'S A GAMBLE
THE "B"-GINNING & END OF THE COUNTRY

Y'all know the current outrage regarding the "Wheel" ruling about the "SEVEN SWANS A-SWIMMING" puzzle? Well, I think I may have seen a similar moment early on in this game when the correct response to the $600 On Cable answer was "Who is Julia Louis-Dreyfus?" & Mike's pronunciation of "Louis" as "Louise" wasn't accepted, but they accepted Kris' "Louis" pronunciation. Hopefully it doesn't ultimately affect the outcome of this game.

As they take a TO, Kris' in LGT w/ $5,400 & has a $4,400 lead over Gina; Mike's $200 in the red. Kris still in good shape towards the end of the rd. when he turns over the DD at the end of the "B" category w/ $7,600 to Gina's $1,200 & Mike's $400. Kris may tack on $2K.

Average elevation about 8K ft.: Ends w/ N.

"Bhutan? What is Bhutan?"...$9,600! He ends this rd. of competition at the $11K plateau.

SOLE ATTEMPTED TS: $800 (Add a Letter)

The $2K Author at War hands Kris his second DD & that's exactly how much he's already added to his 11 G's (so he now has $13K); Mike just multiplied his four $100s by four. Kris goes for three G-spots this time.

Auctioned last yr., a letter by this author who satirized the military said "In truth I enjoyed" fighting in WWII.

"Who is Kurt Vonnegut?"...nope- Joseph Heller. Mike has a chance to do some major catching-up as he finds a VDD in the middle of Science & Nature; Kris' got $12,800 & Gina's all the way down to eight bills. The titleholder makes a TDD of his $2K & here's Jimmy Maguire:

Saturn's moons range from boulder-sized moonlets to this enormous moon that's larger than Mercury.

"What is Titan?"...also the name of a Nissan truck series, he has the $4K. Time expires on the two least-valuable clues assigned to A Plethora of Picture Plots & we have a $1K LUMP OF COAL for Gina because she finishes at -$2,600.
